Visual sensitivity is just as unique as the individual eye
Through extensive research, we’ve discovered that 83%* of spectacle lenses do not fit the wearers’ visual sensitivity.
The knowledge and measurements we have gathered from Biometric Intelligent Glasses have been at the centre of overcoming this challenge. With B.I.G. VISION™, we created a biometric eye model that helped us create millions of biometric lenses, powered by measurements using our DNEye® Scanner. Applying their expertise, our researchers leveraged our industry-leading dataset and applied advanced data science and AI to develop a way to determine individual visual sensitivity.
The Visual Sensitivity Index
Next, we fine-tuned our state-of-the-art biometric lens calculations an collaborated with the University of Applied Sciences in Munich to study and test the results. Based on the insights we created the Visual Sensitivity Index that illustrates each person’s unique visual sensitivity.
These lenses feature unique design distinctions depending on the visual sensitivity. For example, people with high visual sensitivity could experience visual disruption from slight changes in their vision. Their B.I.G. EXACT™ Sensitive lenses are therefore designed with smaller concentrated aberration fields to minimise these disruptions. For someone with low visual sensitivity, the lenses are optimised with evenly distributed aberrations and softer transition zones for a more seamless vision flow performance.
Remarkable results
In a study conducted with the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, 83%** of study participants preferred the new lenses, and they experienced a visual performance improvement, more specifically: a 24%** improvement in vision flow, 28%** better reading flow, and a 35%** boost to their orientation.
